Treasury of the Church of Saint Mark

The treasury of the temple is currently housed in a room on the south side and contains a rich collection of icons and treasures.

The Temple of Saint Apostle and Evangelist Mark serves as a small museum.

Among other things, the temple contains:

Grave of Emperor Stefan Dušan

On the right side when entering the church, along the southern wall, is the marble tomb of Emperor Stefan Dušan (†1354) designed by Dr. Dragomir Tadić, where his remains were placed, brought from the Monastery of the Holy Archangels near Prizren, a monastery that has been in ruins for centuries.

Grave of Serbian Patriarch German

On the left side when entering the church, along the northern wall, is the tomb of Patriarch German (Đorić, †1991) built in the same style and from the same material as Emperor Stefan Dušan’s tomb.

The throne of the Serbian Patriarch and King is located on the right side in front of the altar.

Family Tomb of the Obrenović Royal Family

The gravestone of King Alexander Obrenović and Queen Draga (†1903), as well as Ana Jovana Obrenović (†1880), Prince Milan M. Obrenović (1819-1839), and Knežević Sergije M. Obrenović (†1878).

Marriage Certificate

The church also holds a document, i.e., the marriage certificate of King Alexander and Queen Draga.

The treasury also contains a book of baptisms in the Temple of Saint Nicholas from 1885.

The church also keeps a document from 1948 when the temple was consecrated by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Gavrilo.

Model of the Temple

The temple also contains a model of the church measuring 120 x 180 x 50 cm, weighing over 100 kg, handmade by Mr. Đorđe Živanović. This masterpiece was actively worked on for over 6 years, started in 1935 and completed in 1954.
